Chairman Frank Smith
Shortly after Queen Mildred’s death in 1994 Prime Minister Peter Smith handed sovereign control and power of 8BD over to T.J. Smith. Thomas abolished the de facto constitutional monarchy that ruled over 8BD since the death of T.N. Smith in the early 1980’s. In 1997 power was handed over to Frank Smith. Initially ruling overtly autocratically and at times by decree by 1999 a stable government structure had been laid out by Chairman Smith. The intelligence agencies FSIA and KGB where founded in 1998 and 1999 respectively. The capital St. Peter built over the area of the former capital Smith City was renamed Budgie City in 1998. By the early 2000’s it was evident that change would be needed, the government and economy was thoroughly centralized. The centralization has been toned down recently and small and mid size businesses are now allowed to operate with little government interference. Chairman Smith originally somewhat puritan enacted the Morality Codes of 1997. These codes placed severe restrictions on what could be seen, what could be said, and what could be worn. Though many parts of the Codes have been repealed over the years a large amount of them are still in force. In 2003 the FSIA/KGB was consolidated into the CSS. Return to main page.
